Use Restrictions policy
Last updated 3 September 2026
Curbcut scans websites. That is a useful thing to do to your own site and a hostile thing to do to someone else's, so we are strict about how the Services may be used. When you use them, you acknowledge that you may not:
- Scan, audit or otherwise submit to the Services any website that you do not own or are not authorised to test.
- Use the Services to overload a website, to probe or circumvent its access controls or security features, or as a general-purpose crawling proxy.
- Use automated means to run scans at a rate or volume that gets around our rate limits, or otherwise interfere with, disrupt or place an undue burden on the Services.
- Collect or extract information from accounts that do not belong to you, or trick, defraud or mislead us or anyone else, including by impersonating another person or making false reports.
- Present a Curbcut report, score or attestation as a certification of accessibility or of compliance with any law or standard, or alter one and pass it off as ours.
- Resell or rebrand the Services or their output as your own product, except under a plan that expressly allows it.
- Harass, threaten or abuse the people who run Curbcut.
- Use the Services in a way that breaks any applicable law or regulation.
Accounts found to be doing any of the above are subject to cancellation without notice, and we may refuse a refund for reports obtained in breach of this policy.
How to report abuse
If you believe your site has been scanned by Curbcut without permission, or that someone is misusing the Services, email abuse@curbcuthq.com with the details: your site, when it happened, and anything from your logs that helps us find the scan. Our crawler obeys robots.txt, so disallowing it there stops it. We will not disclose your identity to anyone associated with the account you report.
